No new executive director yet for Garfield County Libraries

Garfield County Libraries doesn’t have a new executive director just yet. Trustees with the Public Library District decided Wednesday to continue the search.

There had been two final candidates, neither of them from the Garfield County area. One dropped out this week. The board did not hire the remaining applicant, according to executive director Sandi Kister.

“The Board of Trustees decided to continue the search for the candidate we think will be most successful in bringing the Garfield County Public Library District to the right next step,” said Kistner on Thursday.

Kister declined to go into detail about what happens next with the search, since those steps were discussed during an executive session Wednesday night.

The effort to find a new executive director began last fall.
