Interested citizens can hear updates on policy and management practices during a time of flux in the oil and gas industry on Thursday in Rifle.
Staff with the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission will give an update on state rules regarding pipelines. This follows a fatal home explosion in Firestone, Colorado this past spring.
There will also be an update from federal officials, following news last week that the Bureau of Land Management is considering rescinding rules regarding hydraulic fracturing on federal lands.
