Names have been released in a fatal single-car collision on I-70 yesterday afternoon. Melanie Jean Leilani Baumert, 41 of Rifle, CO was ejected from her vehicle after her white Volvo crossed the centerline and rolled several times near mile marker 96, between Silt and Rifle. Baumert was not wearing a seatbelt.
A seven-year-old passenger survived the crash with minor injuries. The child was restrained. The accident occurred at about 4 pm. Alcohol and drugs are not considered a factor in the accident.
