Service, support arranged for Beck-Jennings family

There will be a memorial service in two weeks for well-known Carbondale man who died while ice climbing last week. Donations and meals have also been quickly organized the family of Ryan Jennings.

The 42-year-old was killed on December 30th, when he was climbing near Redstone and a section of ice collapsed. Friends quickly rallied support for Jennings’ wife and two children. A website is being used to raise money, and meal deliveries are already scheduled for several months.

Jennings worked with Coldwell Banker for more than 8 years, and was an established alpinist. He won two grants to help fund challenging climbs in Alaska. Jennings had largely grown up in the Roaring Fork Valley, later returning in the early 2000’s. His memorial service is scheduled for 3pm on January 23rd at The Orchard in Carbondale.
