Skico looking to get young people's attention

The Aspen Skiing Co. and chamber of commerce held their annual “Afternoon Blend” luncheon yesterday at the Sundeck on top of Aspen Mountain. Aspen Public Radio’s Carolyn Sackariason has the details.

A new strategy focused on garnering the attention -- and business -- of millennials was shown to nearly 300 community leaders and business owners last night as part of the luncheon.

A new website and this video campaign will be released soon to help achieve that goal.

Graham Button, a principal at BravoEcho, a Colorado advertising agency, gave the keynote speech. Though there was no explicit plan for how to attract the younger crowd, he said Aspen already has a lot of things that millennials want.

“They travel most for outdoor adventures, shopping, weddings, entertainment, food and wine festivals. Sound familiar?”

Now it’s a task for the chamber and SkiCo to let the youngins know we have that and more here.
