Snowmass Businesses Raise Tobacco Purchase Age

Two Snowmass Village businesses are voluntarily raising the age to purchase tobacco to 21.

Sundance Liquor and Gifts and Snowmass Conoco will now only sell tobacco to customers 21 years old and older.

This comes after a meeting earlier this month where Snowmass town council voiced unanimous support for raising the purchase age for tobacco to 21. Pending legislation at the state level, this would mean Snowmass will surrender taxes on tobacco products. Two other businesses, the Daly Bottle Shop, and Clark's express will continue to sell products to customers 18 and up.
