Snowmass Club redevelopment proposal includes land for arts organization

The Snowmass Club has announced it will submit a plan to town council requesting a redevelopment of its 217 acre property in Snowmass Village. The plan includes new residential and employee housing and a re-positioning of a portion of the Club’s land.

If approved, some land would be donated to the Anderson Ranch Arts Center, so the organization can expand their campus and increase parking. Nancy Wilhelms is Executive Director of Anderson Ranch. She says much needed student housing would be added.

"They are proposing to provide some much needed land for our expansion. So, it’s parking and much more. In fact, it would enable us to plan and grow for the next 50 years."

She estimates it will be two to three years before her organization could use the land. The idea needs to go through several processes first.

The Snowmass Club plan also includes a possible relocation of the firehouse in Snowmass. The Club anticipates more details will be released this summer during a presentation to town officials.
