Snowmass Expands Summer Trail Offerings

Seth Beckton

Snowmass Ski Area’s summer offerings have expanded and will debut Friday. There will be bike demos for visitors to explore the now 50 miles of cross-country trails.

A new, 5-mile trail will descend from the top of the Elk Camp chairlift and will open in phases. The upper section, dubbed “French Press,” will open in mid-summer, and the lower portion, yet to be named, will debut in late fall.

The park is in the second year of a multi-year expansion project. That also includes another short expert trail, opening later this summer.

The Government and Burnt Mountain trails opened yesterday following spring wildlife closures.
