Some overnight parking okay at Intercept Lot

Construction crews and others can now park their vehicles overnight at the Brush Creek and Highway 82 Intercept Lot. This is to help ease congestion in Glenwood Springs during the Grand Avenue Bridge construction.

Think of this not as a park and ride, but as a ride and park. People who work in Aspen can now park their vehicles overnight and bus the rest of the way home.

The Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA) is making use of a gravel section of the Intercept Lot that’s typically used for overflow. Kent Blackmer, of RFTA, said the object is to get people off the road, so that traffic in Glenwood Springs is more bearable.

There is one caveat: No overnight parking is allowed during the Jazz Aspen Snowmass Labor Day Festival.
