Vacancy Committees Appoint New Politicans

On Tuesday, Perry Will was chosen to replace Bob Rankin as the representative for House District 57.

Mr. Will, of New Castle, is a Republican, now representing Garfield, Moffat and Rio Blanco Counties at the state capitol.

He was chosen by a selection committee over three other candidates for now-Senator Bob Rankin’s seat. One of the other candidates was Rankin’s wife, Joyce Rankin.

Will plans to retire from his current position with Colorado Parks and Wildlife to avoid any conflicts of interest.

Also on Tuesday, Matt Scherr was selected to replace Jill Ryan as Eagle County Commissioner. Scherr is currently the mayor of Minturn.
