Valley Roundup - August 7, 2015

The sheriffs on both ends of the valley are crying foul over having to foot the bill for Hillary Clinton’s recent visit.

An embattled town councilman who is facing a recall attempts to divert attention by claiming the mayor of Snowmass has a conflict of interest in the Base Village review.

Meanwhile, the officials in Aspen’s City Hall are looking at building a new civic center, complete with an additional 51,000 square feet and a new public safety building.

Big brother has been watching motorists along Grand Avenue; CDOT installed over 30 cameras to see how traffic flows in Glenwood Springs.

And in Garfield County, commissioners may sue if drilling companies use a popular road to get to the Thompson Divide.

Guests this week are Curtis Wackerle, editor of the Aspen Daily News, Jill Beathard, editor of the Snowmass Sun, Lorenzo Semple, columnist for the Aspen Daily News and Randy Essex, editor of the Glenwood Post Independent.

Valley Roundup is a production of Aspen Public Radio news.
