Voting For Carbondale's 'Art Around Town' Best In Show Closes Tuesday

Tuesday is the final day for the public to vote for “Best in Show” in Carbondale’s 2018 "Art Around Town."

For Carbondale’s annual "Art Around Town," sculptures are displayed in town for one year.

Fourteen sculptures are vying for “Best in Show.” The winning artist receives a check for $1,000.

The Carbondale Public Arts Commission hosts Art Around Town. Laurie Lindbergh is the commission’s staff liaison and said she’ll present the results of the survey at their next meeting on Sept. 12, “and then they just need to decide when and how they want to announce the winner.”

In the past, that announcement has been made at Carbondale’s Potato Days festival. Lindbergh said the commission is exploring new ways to get the word out.

The survey can be found on the town of Carbondale’s website.
