We-Cycle Wants User Feedback After Busy Season

Elise Thatcher

Wednesday is the last day for the public to weigh in on We-Cycle, the upper valley’s bike-share program. An online survey asks riders what they liked and what could be improved about the rideshare service.

For the first time this summer, the six-year-old program offered a fare-free service, not charging customers for the first 30 minutes of their ride. This drove an 83 percent increase in first-time ridership. The bikes were used 63,000 times, which is a 45 percent increase in use from last year.

We-Cycle is a non-profit, financed by local governments. The organization will also benefit from a new property tax passed this fall to fund transportation. The funding, distributed through the Roaring Fork Transportation Authority will help to expand the bicycles to Carbondale and Glenwood Springs in 2020.

We-Cycle’s end of season survey is available online now through their website.
