Week In The Arts: August 17-23, 2020

Jeremy Swanson
Snowmass is asking guests to "Chalk It Up" on Saturday. The event allows for socially distant public art.

This is Week In The Arts—a curation of virtual exhibits, events and reopenings around the Roaring Fork Valley.

Tuesday, August 18 is the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment. Aspen Snowmass and the Aspen Historical Society are spotlighting women’s suffrage with educational programming from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Gondola Plaza in Base Village.

An exhibition by Colorado artist Strange Dirt is currently on display at Aspen’s Skye Gallery. The collection can be viewed through the end of September.

On Saturday (August 22), Snowmass is inviting guests to “Chalk It Up” on the sidewalks of Base Village. A bucket of chalk will be provided and registration for the event can be found online.

Kirsten was born and raised in Massachusetts, and has called Colorado home since 2008. She moved to Vail the day after graduating from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2011. Before relocating to Basalt in 2020, she also spent a year living in one of Aspen’s sister cities, Queenstown, New Zealand.
