Week in the Arts: February 19, 2018

On Tuesday, there will be a book talk and signing with novelist Christina Baker Kline starting at 6 pm at Paepcke Auditorium as part of Aspen Words Winter Words series.

 

Wednesday at the Aspen Chapel Gallery, STILL/LIFE, a mixed media show, opens starting at 5 pm.

 

Wednesday night, The Second City will perform at The Wheeler Opera House as part of the Aspen Laugh Festival. That starts at 7:30.

 

Then Wednesday night at 10, Krewella will play Belly Up Aspen.

 

Thursday at the Glenwood Vaudeville Revue, the Wild and Scenic Film Festival will screen at 6.

 

Thursday, Paula Poundstone of "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me" fame will perform at The Wheeler Opera House as part of Aspen Laugh Festival. That starts at 7:30.

 

Thursday, Friday and Saturday Colorado Mountain College Spring Valley, the play “Red” will be performed at 7, as well as a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday.

 

Arthur Miller’s “The Price” will be staged at Thunder River Theatre Company Thursday and Friday at 7:30.

 

Friday, the opening reception of "Colorado Art Beat Film Series + Art" exhibition takes place at 6 at Carbondale Art’s R2 Gallery in The Launchpad.

 

Also Friday, The Pedrito Martinez Group will perform at The Cooking School of Aspen as part of the JAS Cafe at 7:15 and 9.

 

And at 7:30 SNL’s Colin Jost will tell jokes as part of the Aspen Laugh Festival at The Wheeler Opera House.

 

Friday in Basalt, Flamenco Underground will perform at The Temporary at 8.

 

And Saturday, This American Life’s Mike Birbiglia will perform at The Wheeler as part of Aspen Laugh Festival.
