Week in the Arts - March 21

  The Oscar-nominated documentary “Cartel Land” is being screened at the Wheeler Opera House on Monday.

 

Citizen Cope plays the first of two acoustic shows at the Belly Up starting on Tuesday. He grew up listening to folk and soul records and has blended them on his four studio albums.

 

Artists in residence at Anderson Ranch will be speaking in Carbondale on Wednesday. The Carbondale Council on Arts and Humanities is presenting the work of this group of artists.

 

Valle Musico plays at the Glenwood Vaudeville Revue on Wednesday in a benefit concert for the Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts.

 

It’s spring and fly fishing season is right around the corner. The Fly Fishing Film Tour comes to the Wheeler Opera House on Thursday. The films include scenes from Saskatchewan, Virginia, Montana and even Zambia.

 

The Aspen Cares Theatrical Fashion Show comes to the Belly Up on Friday. The event raises money for sexual and mental health programs.  

 

The Aspen Santa Fe Ballet closes its spring show on Saturday. It is the 20th year of the company. They’ve grown to international fame over the course of the past two decades.

Nicki Bluhm and The Gramblers play in Snowmass on Saturday for the final performance of the Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series.

Patrick Fort grew up in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, nurturing a love for ice hockey and deli sandwiches. After moving to Colorado in 2010 to attend the University of Colorado to study music, Patrick discovered his love for journalism. In 2013, Patrick created and hosted the award-winning radio program Colorado Stories, a news program that covered CU and the surrounding community. An avid mountain and road cyclist, Patrick also referees youth ice hockey. He loves '60s pop bands and and trying new recipes ranging from milk-braised carnitas to flourless cakes.
