The Basalt Regional Library hosts outdoor story time on Thursday, Oct. 1.

This is Week In The Arts—a curation of virtual events, exhibits and reopenings around the Roaring Fork Valley.

The Basalt Regional Library hosts outdoor story time from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct.1.  The event is aimed at kids age 3 to 5, and families are encouraged to bring their own seating. Masks are required for attendees over 2 years old.

Aspen Historical Society’s Wheeler/Stallard Museum is currently open to the public. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday. One hour each day, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., is reserved for elderly guests and those with compromised immune systems.

Anderson Ranch Arts Center hosts “2020: photographing a year of change.” The online event is moderated by TIME Magazine’s Director of PhotographyKatherine Harris Pomerantz. New York Times staff photographer James Estrin, Pulitzer Prize-winning Washington Post photographer Salwan Georges and documentary filmmaker and photographer Isadora Kosofsky will be part of the discussion. Registration is free on the art campus’s website.

 

 

Kirsten was born and raised in Massachusetts, and has called Colorado home since 2008. She moved to Vail the day after graduating from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2011. Before relocating to Basalt in 2020, she also spent a year living in one of Aspen’s sister cities, Queenstown, New Zealand.
