The Snowmass Balloon Festival takes off on Friday, Sept. 11.

This is Week In The Arts — a curation of virtual events, exhibits and reopenings around the Roaring Fork Valley.

The Snowmass Balloon Festival runs from Friday, Sept. 11 through Sunday, Sept. 13. The hot-air balloons will take off from 7-10 a.m. each morning, and the night glow event will be held on Friday from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Due to social distancing guidelines, guests are encouraged to watch this year’s display from afar. Balloon rides will not be available to the public, but Snowmass is offering limited parking for up to 250 cars each day for drive-in spectators. Parking passes can be reserved online.

Anderson Ranch Arts Center launches its fall workshops this week. The Snowmass Village campus is offering a tutorial on Adobe Lightroom (Sept. 7-11), in-studio sculpture practice (Sept. 7-18) and a two-week workshop aimed at intermediate to advanced multi-media artists (Sept. 7-18). Anderson Ranch is also offering an iPhone photography workshop on Saturday, Sept. 12. Class registration can be found on the organization’s website.

The Aspen Institute continues its virtual series of speakers and panel discussions this week. Friday’s event is a reading and writing seminar as part of the Institute’s Resources for Living and Leading. Participants can find the entire schedule and sign up for each event online.
