The king and queen of Aspen’s annual Wintersköl celebration have been selected.
This year, Lissa Ballinger and Mike Monroney will be crowned as part of the 68th Witnersköl celebrations.
Ballinger and Monroney were chosen based on their community involvement and exemplifying life in a mountain town.
This year’s theme is “Aspen, Orignial By Design,” a nod to this year’s Bauhaus 100 celebrations. Ballinger, a curator at the Aspen Institute, helped spearhead the valley-wide Bauhaus celebration.
The Aspen Chamber is accepting applications for the snow sculpting contest to be held during Wintersköl.
