Horses for Heroes

"Horses for Heroes" from Aspen Public Radio on Vimeo.

As Congress is set to debate another war scenario, the number of wounded continues to grow from the current conflict in Afghanistan and previous engagements in Iraq.  Unlike wars in the last century a large percentage of these wounded suffer from what are called cognitive injuries, things like closed head injuries from explosive devices.

In Aspen this summer a group of these soldiers took some time for an equine therapy program called Horses for Heroes.  Chris Council, Chief Photographer for the Aspen Daily News, and Chris Janjic a photography student at Syracuse University, produced our multimedia report on the program.

Chris and Chris sat down for an interview with APR’s Roger Adams.
