Aspen Public Radio was founded in 1981 to bring news and information to our mountain community, from both here and afar. Today, nearly forty-five years later, Aspen Public Radio is one of the over 1,000 NPR radio stations broadcasting across the United States.
We are all independently owned, FCC-licensed nonprofit organizations dedicated to delivering local news and trusted information, cultural programming, and public safety alerts. We share a common mission to inform the public, increase understanding of the world, and enrich the experience of everyday life.
This week we join stations all across our NPR network for a public radio tradition: it’s the Spring Membership Drive, taking place March 17-21, and we’re live on the air with the goal of raising $25,000 in support of local nonprofit news.
Public radio is part of your community, and Aspen Public Radio is your station.
As a thank you, when you become an Evergreen member with a gift of $15 a month, or make a one-time gift of $180 or more, you will receive your choice: one of our brand new “Public Radio for the Win” t-shirts or the same original design on a classic widemouth Nalgene water bottle.

We know you rely on our trusted reporting—from election updates, to wildfire information, to coverage of local issues and events right here in the Roaring Fork Valley. And we’re proud to be your NPR station, providing national and international news for Aspen and the valley.
We know you count on Aspen Public Radio to be here for you. And this week, we are counting on you to support this service.
Stay informed. Stay inspired. And thank you!
