The Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, or COGCC, wants public input as it creates new rules for oil and gas drilling. Locals have their chance to weigh in Wednesday at a hearing in Glenwood Springs.

Basalt Town Council will vote Tuesday to authorize the voluntary refund of about $2 million in overcollected property tax mill levies from the past three fiscal years.

Beginning Monday, Hallam Street in downtown Aspen will be a pedestrian and bike way.  The goal is to create a safe path for walkers and bikers travelling north of Main Street.

A bill to protect 400,000 acres of public lands in Colorado passed out of the U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources on Wednesday. 

The Colorado Outdoor Recreation and Economy (CORE) Act would protect four areas in Colorado, including Thompson Divide and part of the Continental Divide. It was introduced in January by Congressman Joe Neguse and Sen. Michael Bennet.

Basalt is updating its Master Plan, the document that guides land-use decisions.

 

On Tuesday, the town’s Planning and Zoning Commission will meet with the firm it hired to figure out what residents want the Master Plan to say.
