A panel discussion Tuesday will address what the changing climate means for recreation, agriculture and local economies.
Emily Struzenberg with Environment Colorado said it’s no surprise that numerous wildfires are burning across the Western Slope.
“We’re hoping to highlight the connections between these extreme weather events and climate change,” she said.
Colorado communities are seeing lower snowpack and corresponding drops in stream flows, and there are increasing concerns about drought and wildfire.
The panel will feature Matt Hamilton of Aspen Skiing Company, local farmer Cooper Means, Aspen Mayor Steve Skadron and state senator Kerry Donovan.
The discussion is Tuesday at 5 p.m. at the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies.
