Strong Ski Season Bolstered By Good Snow And Local Skiers

aspensnowmass.com

On Sunday Aspen Mountain shut down operation, bringing ski season to a close. It was the strongest in a decade, according to the Aspen Skiing Company.

Local skiers came out in droves over the season. At last count, SkiCo logged more than 20,000 skier days from local pass holders, thanks to good snow.

Aspen Mountain recorded 300 inches over 81 days, and while it didn’t break records, the storms brought consistent powder to the mountains.

March alone saw 63 inches of snow, the second snowiest on record. The month brought more visitors than the FIS World Cup, suggesting it’s not just locals enjoying the snow.

The introduction of the Ikon Pass, which includes five days at Aspen alongside resorts around the world also brought new skiers to the four mountains.
