Airport Visioning Committees Meet For First Time

The visioning process for the Aspen-Pitkin County Airport launches Thursday.

Over 100 volunteers, selected by the county commissioners, will serve across five committees. Each committee will provide feedback on issues from the technical aspects of engineering the airport to what kind of “character” it should have.

Response to the call for volunteers was so strong that commissioners put together an additional committee to serve on focus groups for the airport improvement process.

Airport updates include up to $500 million in runway improvements and a new terminal. The first meeting is at Aspen Meadows.
