Aspen Chooses Torre; Glenwood Denies Streets Tax

Elise Thatcher

Torre is Aspen’s next mayor. The 49 year-old will replace sitting mayor, Steve Skadron, whose term expires in June.

Torre beat his opponent, Ann Mullins, a current council member, by over 300 votes in Tuesday's run-off election.

Mullins will serve out the remaining two years in her term.

Neither candidate received a majority of votes in March, which prompted yesterday’s run-off election.

In Glenwood Springs, Tony Hershey unseated incumbent Jim Ingraham for the at-large seat on the City Council. Charlie Willman won the Ward 3 Seat.

Paula Stepp and Steve Davis ran unopposed for their seats.

Glenwood Springs voters also turned down the proposed street improvement tax.
