Candidates running for local, state, and national offices speak tonight in Carbondale about management and funding of public lands.
Annie Rickenbaugh with the forum organizer, Colorado Wild Public Lands, said the discussion is meant to raise awareness of challenges, including decreasing funding of management agencies and growing population.
“We’re going to be seeing a lot more demand on our public land and this is going to be a much more pressing issue going forward,” Rickenbaugh said.
The forum includes 12 candidates from seven different races. It begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Third Street Center in Carbondale.
