CDOT aims for bigger stakeholder participation in leadership team

CDOT

CDOT hopes to get a bigger turnout for its next meeting with movers and shakers in Glenwood Springs. It’s part of preparations for Grand Avenue Bridge construction in January, and the idea is for CDOT managers to stay in close contact with business owners, civic groups and other leaders.

The group is dubbed the Public Information Leadership Team. Tom Newland is CDOT project spokesman and says the group has met once so far, in November. “We’re looking for better attendance and we’re hoping to have another meeting just before Christmas,” he said this week. “To start getting into the details of the schedule, and also into details in the final design, which is being put together right now.”

CDOT believes that working with local leaders is a good way to make sure everyone in the Glenwood Springs community updated throughout construction of the new Grand Avenue and pedestrian bridges. Officials say locals will see the greatest detours in mid to late 2017.
