Around Colorado, Democratic candidates for office have raised almost five times the amount Republicans have; it's true in some local races, as well.
Garfield County Commissioner Tom Jankovsky, a Republican, is being challenged by a Democrat, Paula Stepp. The latest round of campaign finance reports showed that Stepp had raised almost $20,000, more than four times Jankovsky.
In Eagle County, Republican Jacqueline Cartier is challenging Democratic incumbent, Jeanne McQueeney. McQueeney received more contributions than Cartier, although Cartier had spent more on the race, including renting office space in both Basalt and Avon.
The next round of campaign finance reports are due in October.
