Forest Service Wants Input On Natural Gas Wells

USFS

The Forest Service is looking for feedback on proposed natural gas storage in the White River National Forest.

Black Hills Energy operates the Wolf Creek field storage facility and wants to build two new natural-gas storage wells there.

Before construction can start, the Forest Service is examining impacts to air, water and the surrounding forest.

Work on the new wells would start this summer. Four Mile Road would see increased traffic, but the agency says the project won’t affect recreation in the area.

The Forest Service is looking for public feedback, which can be submitted through the agency’s website through next month.
