A proposed runway and terminal at the Aspen Pitkin County Airport have been the subject of heated debate. As the project moves forward, Pitkin County is looking for citizens serve on four different advisory groups.
Between 60 and 70 volunteers will give feedback on the airport redevelopment plans. They’ll also act liaisons for the broader public, acting as the go-between with airport officials and planners.
The applications for the volunteer positions ask for relevant experience and seek to gauge what the volunteers know about the airport planning process. Final appointments will be made by Pitkin County commissioners, who will consider which citizens are best fit for each working group.
Meetings start early next year. Any full or part-time Pitkin county resident can apply on the airport's website.
