Roaring Fork Valley Celebrates Independence Day Sans Fireworks

ACRA

Even without fire restrictions in place, many towns in the Roaring Fork Valley are celebrating Independence Day with firework alternatives.

After several years of drought, city and county officials have decided fireworks aren’t worth the risk, and even though it’s been a wet winter, towns are reluctant to count on weather while planning celebrations.

Aspen’s drone show was canceled for the second consecutive year, this time due to a software malfunction. The town will still host a laser light show and party after dark.

Snowmass is also steering clear of fireworks, but has its regular Thursday night concert on Fanny Hill.

Glenwood Springs will host a laser light show.
