There are two major water projects underway in Aspen: A river management plan that is meant to improve the health of the Roaring Fork, and work to keep conditional water rights for storage.
Now, the experts in charge of those projects are coming together to host a dialogue series called “Eddy Out.” It’s meant to give the public time to discuss complex water issues with decision makers. The first topic is this year’s low snowpack and the threat of drought.
“We don’t often have a time that we can sit and talk back and forth in a casual way with the public,” said April Long, who heads up work on the river management plan.
Long and Margaret Medellin, who works for the city’s water department, will host the conversation series.
The conversation starts at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Limelight Hotel. There are events scheduled in May and June as well.
