In this politically charged year, environmentalists from across the country are planning for Earth Day marches and other activities to show support for science on Saturday, April 22.
First, the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) is throwing an Aspen-style celebration; the nonprofit is hosting a green drinks, including a bike-powered blender for guests to make margaritas or lemonade slushies, at Hallam Lake at 5 p.m.
On Saturday, environmentalists of all ages can find an activity. The Roaring Fork Conservancy is holding its annual Fryingpan River clean-up. Aspen TREE at Cozy Point Ranch is hosting a community picnic. Local activists are also organizing an Aspen version of the March for Science, beginning at 1 p.m. at Paepcke Park.
