Three seats on Basalt’s town council are up for grabs in April and interested candidates can sign up to run starting Jan. 2.
Nomination petitions are now available from the Town Clerk and need to be returned by Jan. 22 with at least 25 signatures from registered Basalt voters.
Councilmembers Bernie Grauer, Mark Kittle and Gary Tennenbaum are at the end of their terms. Each can choose to run again, however, for another four years on the council.
Candidates also need to be eligible Basalt voters and need to have lived in-twon for at least a year, prior to April 3, which is election day.
