A crowd of several dozen gathered Tuesday night at the Glenwood Springs Colorado Mountain College (CMC) campus to protest the Trump administration’s decision to end DACA — the law giving temporary protection to so-called “dreamers.”
They’re undocumented people, brought to the U.S. illegally as children.
Both the superintendent of the Roaring Fork Schools and a representative of CMC reiterated their commitment to educate students, regardless of immigration status.
The gathering came hours after state senators Cory Gardner and Michael Bennet announced they’d co-sponsor a bill to provide a pathway to citizenship for dreamers.
