Judges will start watching films during the 25th year of Aspen Film’s ShortsFest tonight.
Maggie MacKay of Aspen Film said the films this year all have been able to weave together with a common theme. They create a feeling of the shared human experience. She also said seeing the films in a big venue is worth all of the work sorting through the initial entries.
“That’s when it really feels like a festival,” she said. “That’s when you really see the work you’ve put in reflected back at you.”
The festival runs through Sunday, April 10.
