The 10th annual Mountainfilm kicks off Wednesday. The film festival aims to make audiences feel they’re a part of a local and a global community.  

The Wheeler Opera House kicks off its summer season with the show "NU-TOPIA: Tour the Mystery!" It uses dance, a light show and the music of The Beatles to spread a message of love. It’s also part of a new effort by the Wheeler to showcase productions headed up by locals.

Last week, Aspen City Council approved a $100,000 year-long contract between the city-owned, publicly-funded Wheeler Opera House and Professional Facilities Management. The Rhode Island based management booking company beat out Belly Up, Aspen, a local music venue, for booking the 2018 year.
