The Aspen City Council updated their to-do list Tuesday night.
The council spent two days last month identifying nine topics that need special attention in Aspen. They are now discussing the exact “goal language” for each topic. Two of Mayor Steve Skadron’s pet projects made the list - strengthening the “uphill economy” and reducing the motorist-to-pedestrian ratio downtown.
Each of the nine broad categories has a city staff member assigned as a team leader, with multiple other staff and community partners assigned to work on the issue, as well. Other “top goals” reflect community priorities of supporting local business, reducing Aspen’s carbon footprint, and modernizing the employee housing program.
