Currently, three options have been laid out for building a new chairlift on the west side of Aspen Mountain.
In order to study each scenario in more detail, a new $43,000 contract needs to be signed with consultants SE Group. The study would be funded in part by ten thousand dollar payments from Gorsuch Haus developers, the Lift One Lodge developers, and the Aspen Skiing Company, all of which own land that a lift may be built on or above. The city would round out the final $13,000 of the contract. If approved, SE Group will recommend specific lift technology, analyze a mid-station option, and offer specifics on snowmaking and grooming needs for each scenario.
