Voters: 'yes' to Crown Mountain Park tax increase, unofficial results say

Crown Mountain Park

Voters decided to fund a property tax increase for Crown Mountain Park in El Jebel.

By Tuesday night, nearly 2,300 ballots were cast from across the Crown Mountain Park and Recreation district, which stretches from El Jebel to Old Snowmass, and goes as far east as Reudi.

Unofficial results show the measure passing by 72 votes.

The tax hike is estimated to bring in $700,000 each year. Park staff says the funds will go to replace aging infrastructure, like the irrigation system.

Homeowners in the district will now pay an additional $14 for every $100,000 of their home’s value. Commercial property owners will pay $57 more per year for every $100,000 of property value.
