Aspen Public Radio is your community-supported, local public radio station. We are guided by our mission to deliver facts and perspective, bridge divides, and strengthen connections throughout the communities of the Roaring Fork and Colorado River valleys and beyond.
For over forty years, support from you and your fellow listeners has made our essential service possible. Contributions from listeners are by far the largest, most reliable portion of our funding, totaling over 48% of revenue in 2022. And it is this generosity from you and your neighbors that makes our service free and accessible for so many.
We’re committed to providing the news and information our audience needs, focusing this year on:
- investing in emergency preparedness to be ready when and if the community needs us to communicate vital and life-saving information throughout the valley,
- continuing our weekly production of news in Spanish,
- strengthening the community partnerships that have brought you live broadcasts from Food & Wine, Aspen Ideas Fest, the Aspen Security Forum, and more,
- producing illuminating events for the public such as the Aspen Psychedelic Symposium, the annual Lawn Bash, and Winemaking is Freedom, and
- serving you every day by addressing critical issues of importance to the community –with local coverage by our remarkable team of broadcast journalists, reporting on local governments, education, arts & culture, climate and the environment, and so much more.
