Losing a friend is hard. But, one can hope out of the sorrow to find feelings of friendship and inspiration that will last a lifetime. It’s even more profound to be able to share those feelings and meaning of someone’s life & work with others. That’s part of the solace found by filmmaker Stormy Pyeatte following the death of her friend, Colorado artist Zina Lahr.
After stumbling upon the video earlier this week, I was struck with Pyeatte's beautiful portrait and how it captures and allows Lahr’s creative personality to shine through.

I interviewed with Pyeatte, a film student at Santa Fe School of Art and Design, about how the piece originated, her memories of her friend, Zina Lahr, and how the video has been gaining attention on-line allowing her friend’s personality to connect with others.
Lahr died in late November due to an accident while hiking near her home in Ouray, Colorado. She was 23 years old.
