Valley Roundup - June 26th, 2015

Welcome to Valley Roundup, a review of the top news stories in the valley in the past week.

Aspen lost one of its first cultural architects when novelist Jim Salter died earlier this month. He moved here in the '60s when many other renowned artists were planting their roots.

Snowmass Base Village developers are slowly rolling out their grand plan. Decision makers held a joint meeting as planning began.

Also in Snowmass, there is debate about using more property taxes to fund local schools, rather than jacking up the sales tax rate,  one of the highest in the state.

A new City Market may be on the horizon in Carbondale, along with a gas station and pharmacy. Let’s see whether it can get past the town trustees.

And, an Aspen woman won her fight in court to find out which neighbor complained about her home construction project.

This weekend marks the 25th anniversary of "Jazz Aspen Snowmass."  The June concerts are held at the Benedict Music Tent.

Joining me this week are Lorenzo Semple, a columnist for the Aspen Daily News, Jill Beathard, editor of the Snowmass Sun and Will Grandbois, a reporter for the Glenwood Post Independent.
