The Upper Valley’s June schedule just got a little busier. The American Renewable Energy Institute’s AREDAY Summit starts on June 19th. The event typically would start in August.
Now the event lines up closely along with the Food and Wine Classic, the Aspen Music Festival and School and the Aspen Ideas Festival, among others.
Chip Comins, chairman and CEO of the summit, wanted to move the event to an earlier date just to get out in front of the season. This year, the event also falls around the Summer solstice. The June timeframe also fit the schedules of a lot of the guests for the event.
There have been room agreements made at the Viceroy in Snowmass, according to AREI.
The president of Iceland, Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, will make an appearance as well. He is not the recently deposed prime minister of Iceland, Sigmundur David Gunnlaugsson.
