Snowmass Finalizes Retail Marijuana Licensing

silverpeakapothecary.com

Pot will be for sale in Snowmass Village before next ski season, according to Mayor Markey Butler.

She and the other members of Town Council will finalize the details Tuesday night.

They could approve up to three licenses for retail marijuana within town limits. But, regulations make that unlikely.

A retailer must first be licensed by the state, a process that can take months.

Only then will Snowmass hear their case.

Retailers will undergo a background check and interview. They also need a lease, but what little space in town is available is restricted by distance requirements.

Retailers also need to get input on a plan to control odor and noise around their shop.
