Alex Blau’s “Rainbowhead” opens at Anderson Ranch

Courtesy, The Artist

Alex Blau is a painter whose bright, geometric pieces are on display at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center.

Blau’s work can be seen at the center, located in Snowmass, through early April. The show, called “Rainbowhead”, is Blau’s first solo exhibition here.

Blau has been a painter for more than 20 years. She puts together jagged geometric patterns with softer shapes, like circles. In other pieces, triangles are planted in what seem to be random places on the canvas.

Her piece, “Optical Hey” is a mix of soft lines from an airbrush, and the hard points of orange and white triangles.

Though she has a studio in Nashville, the work on display in Snowmass is new.
