The Aspen Chapel Gallery's upcoming exhibition, "Art From the Heart," (June 24 through July 12) benefits local artists and organizations helping in the Roaring Fork Valley’s COVID-19 response. The Aspen Chapel Gallery’s co-director Tom Ward said the impetus behind the exhibition was simple.
"The idea came from Michael Bonds, the other co-director ... he said, 'Let's try to get some money into the hands of the artists in the valley.'"

The exhibit was open to all artists and mediums to achieve that goal. All displayed work is for sale, and can be purchased right off the wall.
Along with money from art sales going to the artists, the Aspen Chapel Gallery is also giving a portion of its funds from "Art From the Heart" to the local nonprofit Aspen Family Connections, which has been distributing food during the pandemic.
"We always have a nonprofit partner with the shows," explained Ward. "We wanted to get some money into their hands because they're getting food to people [during the pandemic]."
The gallery will be open for visitors Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. More information can be found at the Aspen Chapel Gallery's website.
