After the death of their 18-year-old daughter, Bailey, last June, Isa Catto and Daniel Shaw—and their older daughter Fiona—decided to go ahead with a long-planned trip to Botswana and Mozambique in August. Accompanied by their friend, National Geographic photographer Jonathan Irish, they visited three completely different ecosystems in Botswana and the spectacular but threatened Bazaruto Archipelago in southern Mozambique, where they are involved through Conservation International in expanding a vital marine protected area. Isa and Daniel will describe the conservation issues faced by these vital places and communities and discuss the healing potential of travel.
