Voters are casting their ballots in Pitkin County for one of two sheriff candidates: incumbent Sheriff Joe DiSalvo and his challenger, Michael Buglione.
Buglione, who has previously worked for the Aspen Police Department and the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office, spoke with Aspen Public Radio’s Halle Zander on Oct. 18 about how he plans to approach the job if he’s elected.
They discuss the four pillars of Buglione’s campaign: addressing mental health and substance abuse; increasing public safety; developing housing for deputies; and his opposition to building a new jail.
Listen here to Zander’s conversation with incumbent Sheriff Joe DiSalvo.
The final day of voting is Nov. 8, which is Election Day.
Voters can submit their ballots at a drop box until 7 p.m. Nov. 8 or vote in person at Pitkin County’s administration building through Saturday.
On Monday and Nov. 8, Pitkin County residents can vote at the Jewish Community Center in Aspen on Main Street.
